-I have photographed quite a few owls over the last few years, but the elusive Short Eared Owl or “Shorty”, had been on my bucket list for years. I had never even seen one! One night on a long drive, a last second decision led me to this beautiful creature, and I had just a few minutes with her before the light was completely gone. In this alternative shot, the bird had flown down from a post on the road, to a more natural perch on the ground.
